Young People Cornwall Peer Champion Project

Peer champion project: The Countywide project is aimed at young people aged 16-25yrs, who might have an interest in upskilling themselves to work/volunteer with other young people.

We are offering 3 days of training opportunities, based in St Austell, we can cover any public transport costs.

Day 1 May 8th 11-3.30pm includes 4 modules based around, the youth work role, E&D, boundaries and mental health.
Day 2 May 15th 1-4pm: accredited level 2 safeguarding children and young people training
Day 3 TBC – First aid

Young people who take part will then be supporting 7hrs of volunteer time towards the Cornwall Schools games in June 2021, which could be virtual – creating videos or other innovative ways of demonstrating how to set up and participate in the activities, or there could be options that young people support in person if it is able to go ahead as normal this year.

For their hours on this we can offer those participants time credits as a reward for their volunteering time, and offer opportunities for young people to volunteer within YPC groups and projects, or perhaps support into more local volunteering opportunities.
