The Parish Council and the Fete Committee are organising a Platinum Jubilee Tea Party and evening BBQ for SUNDAY 5TH of JUNE at RICHARD JORY PLAYING FIELD.

The aim is to have an event that will live long in the memory of everyone across the whole parish and for the children attending Cusgarne School.

The fun will begin at 2:30pm so please come along with your own blankets or picnic table and chairs.

It would be great if all the children come dressed up for the event if they do they can show off their outfits as they collect a FREE ice cream.

The children will have the opportunity to make a crown or other suitable headdress to accompany their outfit.

FREE Tea Treat saffron buns will be given to every child at the party.

The children will be able to plant their own sunflower seed and enter the tallest sunflower competition.

Burncoose Nursery and Warrior Garden Centre are sponsoring this competition.

During the afternoon there will also be children’s entertainment with juggling and crazy golf.

With other surprises being organised as we speak.

During the afternoon the WI are providing FREE refreshments:-

tea, coffee, squash and in particular cream teas for those who want to indulge themselves.

The young adults attending the Youth Group will be helping with either the sunflower competition or crown making.

If you have an idea and would like to run an alternative activity please let us know.

It wouldn’t be a proper Jubilee celebration without a commemorative tree being planted again a big thank you to Burncoose Nursery.

This is the main day when the whole country celebrates the QUEEN’S 70 years of service, so it can’t be postponed,

fingers crossed we won’t get wet.

GETTING READY FOR THE JUBILEE ACROSS THE PARISH

To put the Parish in the mood to celebrate it would be fantastic to see lots of bunting and red white and blue flower beds and hanging baskets through out the whole Parish.

A tree donated by Burncoose Nursery will be planted so that generations to come will know that the folk living in the Parish of Gwennap in 2022 knew how to mark our Queens dedication and service over the last 70 years.

THE EVENING PLATINUM JUBILEE BBQ

WITH LIVE MUSIC AND DANCING

From 5:30pm running through to 8:30 pm the Cornish Arms are laying on a BBQ and a bar until 9:00pm

at the RICHARD JORY PLAYING FIELD.

You will be able to purchase beer, cider, wine soft drinks plus the usual vegetarian and meat BBQ food.

WE NEED NUMBERS, so please return the RESPONSE FORM.

We are all hoping for the weather to be kind but if it isn’t we will all remember the day

because we will be dancing in wellies and our wet weather gear.
